Son, brother, friend.

“No greater love than this, than to give one’s life for a friend.”

Kevin inspired countless people with his strength and courage. His “never quit” spirit is an inspiring legacy.  It reminds us every day to be strong, be brave, and be the best people we can be.  We honor Kevin’s memory with this annual outing and the Courageous Heart Scholarship

“Leave everything on the field.” It’s a saying in the sports world that most people interpret as, “Give 100 percent. Don’t walk off the field with an ounce of energy left in you.” From running bases on a dusty baseball diamond to tackling an opponent at the 30-yard line, Kevin Renderman left everything on the field, usually in a red jersey. Kevin graduated from St. Christina (’01) and Marist (’05). He earned a degree from Millikin University and wanted to teach so he could encourage children to work hard, play hard, and leave everything on the field. When a brain tumor sidelined that goal, Kevin took that “leave everything on the field” attitude and applied it to everyday life. His courage and resilience inspired everyone he met and everyone he already knew. Kevin died Jan. 30, 2015, but his spirit lives on. With every hardship, every obstacle, and every challenge, his family and friends are reminded of how Kevin lived. He left everything on the field.
